I&#039;ve also seen a bunch of comments about writers &quot;cheating&quot; by self-publishing, by people who would apparently never dream of doing such a shocking thing! I smiled, even though I&#039;m deeply and personally interested in where this whole traditional publishing / self-publishing thing goes from here! I don&#039;t think self-publishing is chearing, but I think self-published authors ARE at a cross-roads - and this is a great opportunity to play the game and prove that they&#039;re serious about their craft with or without the name of the greatest publishing houses on the covers of their books. For those of us who are considering self-publication among a number of other options, it&#039;s a wake-up call to resist impatience and go for self-publication only if we&#039;re prepared to invest the time and money in doing it RIGHT.
