It’s Cold!

Published by at 10:22 am under Ramblings,Writing

Apparently fall has arrived! I’ve closed one of my big windows so the wind can’t come at me with quite such frisky abandon. It is COLD out there.

As a writer, I’m really happy to be living in a place with four real seasons. I know some people dream of California, Hawaii, and Florida (and I appreciate those places when I visit them), but I can’t imagine how much inspiration I would lose if I didn’t experience spring and summer, fall and winter so completely. Weather is the atmosphere of life. My feelings on the subject probably explain why it comes into my stories all the time. The seasons matter!

What do you think?

It’s getting cooler where I live too! I live down in the South of the US, so ‘cool’ means 70 to 75 degrees. Still, to me that’s very autumn-y. I agree; the seasons matter and I love them all, even the hot, humid and hornet-y summer of the South!

It’s getting cold here in Wisconsin. It was 50 F and windy all day. I wore a jacket for the first time in a while!

Amy, you’re welcome! Thanks for the comment :).

Josh, your weather sounds about like ours. Only add rain. Elisabeth … well, people who think 75 degrees is cold shouldn’t be surprised if northerners make faces at them ;).

I completely agree. My brother hates the seasons, he just wants summer constantly. I love getting out of bed on a cold morning, sipping hot coffee and feeling its warmth go through my body. I love the brisk fall air and the beautiful fiery colors of the trees.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted or looked at your blog. I love reading your posts though because they always make me feel the urge to write. I’m glad I started reading them again.
